What Kind Of Labradoodle!?!?!
Australian Labradoodle Breeder
Confused about what kind of Labradoodle to get? Australian Labradoodle? F1B? MultiGen??? What matters and why?

Here at Mountain Creek, we pride ourselves on the quality of our Breeding dogs. We take great pride in our program and strive to have the best Labradoodles so that we canprovide our families with the best puppies. We began our program with American Labradoodles.

We did this because we had Labrador Retrievers for many years and loved the breed. The Labrador did not do well with our children's allergies and that is how we found the Labradoodle. Our first Labradoodle worked wonders with our son's allergies. He could roll around with her happily without any trouble. We were thrilled. We were so impressed with our dog that we did much research into the breed. We decided that we wanted to start with American lines based on our experience with Labradors and Poodles and American Labradoodles. We knew that with the right parents, the American Labradoodle was a fine breed.

We began breeding F1B Labradoodles, taking great care to use poodles with a soft, fleece coat and not tight and wiry and Labradoodles that were non-shedding with a fleece coat as well. We had great success with this and have heard amazing things from each of our puppy families. As we moved forward in our program we decided that we wanted to expand our lines and continue to offer our families wonderful, non-shedding, allergy friendly Labradoodles.

We think both Australian and American Labradoodles are phenomanal breeds, so we decided to take the best of both worlds and combine them. Over time, we have infused our American and Australian lines carefully and methodically to produce outstanding lines that are sought after by many breeders but only offered by us. We have truly unique Australian lines as well as our own fabulous American lines. We are able to offer puppies that have stunning, soft, non-shedding, allergy friendly coats, with the great boning and blockier body of the Labrador.

There are breeders out there that want to be thought of as the only "Authentic Australian Labradoodle" breeders. They would have families believe that the only way to get the right Labradoodle is to get a puppy bred from two Australian parents and have the price tag to prove it. This is not the case and if a little research is done by potential puppy families, they will see that most of the reputable Labradoodle breeders, many of which were the first Australian Labradoodle breeders in this country are infusing American lines into their Australian Labradoodles and have for years.

What About Clubs

Another thing that sets us apart is that we don't belong to lots of clubs and associations. We don't have anything against these clubs. However we feel that some of the things they force on their members is not their place to do. We rely on our Vets when it comes to our puppies health. We have 3 trusted Vets, one of which is a reproductive specialist. These 3 Vets not only do not reccommend early spay and neuter but they refuse to do it. Furthermore there are no Vets in a 45 minute radius that will. We don't have a soapbox to stand on regarding early spay and neuter, but we do feel that breeders should be allowed to follow the advice of their Vets and not be forced to go against it in order to belong to a club.

We do feel strongly about our puppies being spayed and neutered, but we choose to rely on a strict spay and neuter contract. Some "Authentic Australian Labradoodle" breeders would have you believe that it is crucial to belong to these clubs. They would have you believe  that having a seal on their website proves that they are responsible breeders. However, many of these seal bearing members have kennel systems and outdoor facilites where their breeding dogs and puppies live while still charging a hefty $2500 - $3000 for a puppy.

Why We Are Different

We don't want our price to be what impresses our potential puppy families. We want our Labradoodles to do that! We are confident that we have the cream of the crop. Any breeder can "say" many things to try to impress people. We think actions speak louder than words. Spend some time looking around our site. We have an awesome Testimonials Page thanks to all our past puppy families that have been so great and kept in touch with us. We love to get pictures and have been blessed with families that love to send them.

Check out our Adoption Info page and see our home and where our puppies are raised. Check out Our Blog of 3 years and see how the majority of our pictures are in our home with our children and our adult dogs nearby. We are a small breeder with only 3 breeding dogs that live with us while our other breeding dogs live in Guardian homes. We feel very strongly about our breeding dogs being part of the family and participating in family life. We do not agree with breeding dogs being kept in a different building, a barn, an outdoor kennel, or roaming a large piece of property on their own. We feel that when a breeding dog is happy and well adjusted and part of a loving family, it makes all the difference in their puppies! As you can imagine, we feel that our puppies deserve this same loving treatment.

Our puppies are raised in our home from birth until they go to their new families. We are committed to providing our families with the best puppy, and this is more than just the coat quality! We want our families to also have a puppy that is going to be a great addition and be happy, even tempered, friendly, accustomed to a home environment and healthy. We do not see the benefit in a litter of puppies spending their time away from human interaction. Keeping puppies, or moving puppies of a certain age outdoors does not make sense to us!! There
isn't one puppy that needs to learn that much about the outdoors that they need to live there at such a young and tender age. It is a lot more work to keep a litter of puppies in our home until they leave with their new families. Puppies can be messy and noisy! However, we are determined to be responsible, reputable breeders. Loving, caring for and and allowing each puppy to have that warm, happy home environment is an integral part of that.

The right Labradoodle is much more than being an "authentic Austalian Labradoodle" belonging to a club or having a hefty price tag. The right Labradoodle comes from a responsible, reputable breeder that raises their puppies lovingly in their home, gives them lots of social interaction, keeps a small number of breeding dogs living with them so they can live indoors and be part of the family, puts health, coat quality and temperament first and knows that it is quality not quantity that matters.
