We want you to be happy with your puppy choice. While we feel it is important for each family to have a say and pick their perfect puppy, we are happy to offer any insight and answer any questions our families have about the puppies.
We spend 24 hours a day with the puppies and know their personalities well. We will work with each family and help them pick the puppy with the personality best suited for them!
Families pick out their puppy based on their spot on the wait list. If you are 3rd on the list for males, then you would have third choice for the males. If you are third on the list for females, then you would have third choice for the females, and so on.
In addition to our daily observations of the puppies' personalities, we also perform a "puppy aptitude" test prior to the selections. This is done with each puppy one on one, and allows us to see more of their individual personalities. We strive to be able to offer as much insight as possible to our families when it comes time to make their choice.
We begin the selection process at five weeks of age. We ask that families pick their puppy by 6 weeks of age so that the families below them on the list have an opportunity to pick their puppy in a timely manner. This is a very exciting time and we ask that you keep in mind that the other families on the list are excitedly waiting for their turn to know which puppy will be theirs.
If you have not picked your puppy by 6 weeks of age, we will give the families below you on the list the opportunity to pick before you.
The following is a list of things you need to know or complete before coming to pick up your puppy.
Puppy Food / Feeding Schedule
We are feeding the puppies 4 Health Grain-Free Puppy Dog Food. We provide a small sample for you to take home with you, but it is a good idea to have some ready for your new puppy when he/she comes home.

You don’t have to feed him/her the same food we do, but be sure to transition your new puppy to the new food by mixing it with the sample we send you home with. If you don’t do this he/she will probably end up having some tummy troubles.
The puppies are eating two times a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. When you bring your puppy home we recommend feeding him/her about 1/2 cup per serving. You should aim for a morning and evening feeding schedule, but the exact times should be according to your schedule. It’s important to set a good routine from day one. We do recommend not feeding your new puppy past 6:30 pm. This will help your new puppy sleep through the night without any accidents.

Once you have filled out and signed the Puppy Health Guarantee & Agreement we will receive an email prompting us to sign it. Once we have done that you will receive a copy for your records. You don’t need to print this and bring it with you when you pick up your puppy. We do this electronically to save paper, ink, faxing, scanning and the possibility that we may lose paperwork!
If you have any trouble with the electronic version of the health guarantee we can print one and have it ready for you to sign when you pick up your puppy.
Things You'll Need For Your New Puppy
Your new puppy will need a crate (if you plan on crate training), plenty of toys, a collar, a leash, food and water bowl and a brush. To get more detailed information about the things your puppy will need, please see our recommended products page.
This page will show you toys, food bowls, dog beds, crates etc. You do not have to purchase the products through this page, but it does offer specifics on what to look for when you go puppy shopping. This page will also show you the sizes for the crates based on the adult size of your puppy.
Puppy collar sizing is as follows:
small mini: 8" - 12"
large mini: 10" - "14" (or 16")
medium: 12" - 16" (or 18")
Puppy Shot Records
We will provide you with the shot records and de-worming paperwork at the time of pick-up. When you take your puppy to it’s new puppy vet visit give the shot records to your vet and they will let you know when to bring your puppy back in for subsequent shots. Most Vets will want to complete the shots at 9, 12 and possibly 15 weeks old. (15 week shot is for Rabies. Some Vets will do this at 12 weeks)

We accept Cash, Checks, Credit Cards, or a Cashiers Check.
Deposit: $250 (+$17.50 SC Sales Tax for South Carolina Residents)
Puppy Balance: $2050 (+ $143 SC Sales Tax for All Customers) = $2193
Cash – Pay at time of pick-up if at 8 weeks. Please let us know in advance if you plan to pay cash so we can have change available.
Credit Card – We charge a $65.00 fee if you want to pay your balance via credit card. This is to cover the fee that they charge us. Payment must be cleared one week in advance of puppy pick-up date.
Checks & Cashiers Check – If paying by check or cashiers check, please make checks or cashiers checks out to Mountain Creek Labradoodles or Tom German. They must be cleared one week before puppy pick-up date. Our mailing address is P.O.Box 393, Gray Court, SC 29645.
SALES TAX INFORMATION: We charge a 7% SC Sales Tax on deposits made by South Carolina customers, and on all remaining balances regardless of state residency.
Scheduling a Pick-Up Date
Puppies can go home once they turn 8 weeks old. An estimate of the go home date will be given prior to the puppies arrival. Once the puppies arrive, exact pick up dates will be available on the calendar (see below button for calendar link). .

FAQs
What size kennel should I buy?
For small mini Labradoodles(10-14lbs), we recommend the small size wire crate. For large mini and medium size Labradoodles, we recommend the medium size wire crate. Many stores sell crates that have dividers. This allows new puppy owners the ability to buy the crate that will fit their Labradoodle when it’s an adult, but make it smaller when it is just a puppy. We suggest crates with dividers whenever possible.
What’s with the ribbon colors?
We use different ribbons on each of the puppies so that we may keep track of their weights, and tell puppies apart while they are young.
What is my new puppy’s eating schedule?
Your puppy will be eating two times a day. Morning and evening. We recommend keeping the puppy’s feedings on a schedule as much as possible. We also suggest not feeding your new puppy past 6:30 pm, as this will help the puppy make it through the night in his crate.
How much food will my puppy need per serving?
Small Mini Labradoodles will be eating about 1 cup per day.
Large Mini Labradoodles will be eating 1 1/2 – 1 3/4 cups.
Medium Labradoodles will be eating 2 – 2 1/2 cups per day.
What will I need for the puppy?

How should I transfer the puppy home?
Your puppy will be happy to ride comfortably on your lap when going home. Most puppies fall asleep on the ride to their new home. A crate is another way to transport the puppy, if you feel more comfortable having the puppy secured in one spot during the trip. For families that are unable to pick up their puppies in person, we do allow puppies to fly to them. Please contact us to make arrangements.
How soon do I need to take my new puppy in for a check-up after I pick him up?
The puppy will need to get a check up within 3 business days of bringing him home. Many times, the second set of shots can be done during this visit.
